Alex Katz takes a break in his Manhattan work space amid recently completed canvases, including a first-ever “double portrait,” as he calls it.
Works on display in the loft include a framed drawing by Willem de Kooning (on the wall, at center) and three pieces by Katz (from left: Ellen, Edwin and Rudy, and Ada).
In the living area are a marble-top low table, a vintage scroll-arm sofa—and a new painting.
